JERZY JAWORSKI August 4, 1948 - June 14, 2011 It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear husband, father and grandfather, Jerzy after a battle with cancer. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Danuta; son Marek (Agata); daughters, Joanna (Fred) and Agnes (Adam); his seven grandchildren, Kevin, Martin, Amy, Jasmine, Monika, James and Emily; mother Wiktoria; mother-in-law Izabela; brothers, Zdzislaw (Ewa), Grzegorz (Alicja); sister Maria (Zbygniew), as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by his father Alojzy and father-in-law Witold. Jerzy was born in Bydgoszcz, Poland, August 4, 1948. He and his family moved briefly to Austria and after one and one half years to Winnipeg, Canada to start a new life. He settled in East Selkirk where he was finally able to enjoy his life-long passion; his pigeons and his hobby of working on cars and making sure his family was always taken care of. Jerzy worked at CP Rail in the McPhillips Diesel Shop for 25 years until his early retirement due to his sudden illness. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all the doctors and nurses of the St. Boniface CancerCare Clinic and Selkirk General Hospital for the care they provided. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 18 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church in East Selkirk. Located west off Hwy. 59 onto Hwy. 212 (1.5 kms.) to 702 Old Henderson Hwy., followed by interment at the East Selkirk Cemetery and lunch afterwards at the East Selkirk Hall. The moment that you died, Our hearts broke in two, One side filled with memories, The other died with you. We often lay awake at night, When the world is fast asleep, And walk down memory lane, With tears upon our cheeks. Remembering you is easy, We do it every day, But missing you is a heartache, That never goes away. We hold you tightly within our hearts, And there you will remain, Life will go on without you, But it will never be the same. ~ Wieczny Odpoczynek Racz Mu Dac Panie ~ Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
