Jim, you were the best friend anyone could ask for. From that day when classes began at Brandon College in 1960 and a small group of "old men" (some of us between 25 and 30 years of age) sat down with a fine group of 18-20 year-olds to begin studies for a university degree, you were always a leader, an inspiration, a voice of experience, a calming supporter, and most of all a loyal and true friend to us all. Now that's not to say, Jim, that we always supported all that you would have us believe, but we always thought it a good idea to "... see what Jim thinks". After celebrating the convocation of that first precious academic degree 1n 1963, when, for 3 years we had been supported so much by our wives, (and the BCDC), some scattered away. You, however, always managed to keep the BCDC and others connected - at the lake, at Brandon College/University gatherings, over a crib board, or on the golf course. That was over 50 years of friendship, laughs, some tears, and a lot of joy. Thanks so much for the memories, Jim. It was a great ride. SYOTOS - Posted by: Clare Pangman (friend) on: Feb 15, 2012

I met Jim when we moved to Qualicum Beach in 1998. What a great guy! We golfed together several times and when a mutual friend (Dr. Art Sparling of Winnipeg) came for a visit we met and visited with Jim. Art and Jim had worked together at the U.of Manitoba - Posted by: Keith Smith (Friend) on: Jun 21, 2011
