Derrick leaves to cherish his memory daughters Valerie, Jessie, and Mercedes Walker along with his ex-wife Norma Bird; daughters Natasha and Santana Sumner; sons Jordan Sumner and Preston Walker; granddaughters Natalya and Charley; a sister Mary Elizabeth Walker and her son Jersey. He was predeceased by his wife Veronica Sumner Walker. Wake service to be held on Friday, June 17, 2011 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Funeral service to begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Ave. W. Burial to follow in Fairford, MB.

It's been a little over a year since you left us, the shock of hearing that you were gone lasted for so long. Still to this date I still can't believe that you are gone. Sitting here thinking of you and Ver, and just missing you two so much and all the things that we should've been doing! You were never scared to try anything once!
