EILEEN DASH (MARTIN) September 30, 1914 - June 12, 2011 Mom is finally where she has wanted to be for a long time. Reunited with Dad, Norm, Eric, members of her family and many friends she has missed since they passed on. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Laurie (Bob), Nancy (Phil); grandchildren: James, Moss (Nick), Fraser (Michelle), Karen (Mike); great-grandchildren: Josh, Angus, Jack, Zanthe, Alexis, Drew, Layla; numerous nieces, nephews and the many friends she made in her lifetime. Mom enjoyed life to the fullest and went out of her comfort zone to meet other people, whether it was while she was travelling (she made the trip to Australia a couple of times) or making newcomers feel welcome. Church was a great comfort to her, whether it was at St. Margaret's (as a young girl), St. Patrick's, later renamed St. Patrick/St. Jude or St. Andrew's. She enjoyed attending services, singing in the choir and taking park in various activities connected with the church. Our thanks to the Oakview Extendicare staff who befriended Mom while she was there. And a special thanks to the 3rd floor / South Wing staff at Grace Hospital who helped to keep Mom comfortable during those last days. A memorial service for Mom will be held on June 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Andrews Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the charity of your choice in memory of Mom.
