HELEN PATRICIA KITCH (Nee RICHARDSON, formerly MADILL) 1928 2011 With heavy hearts, the family sadly announces the passing of Helen P. Kitch on June 13, 2011. She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Ellen, her husbands Ernst Kitch and Jack Madill, brothers John (Grace) and Leonard; sisters Doris (Neil) Shaw, Winnifred McLeod (Keith Geddes), Margaret (Williams) Clancy; grandsons Walter Evaniuk and David Warden; great-granddaughter Hayley Belton; nephews Dennis and Jerry Shaw. She is lovingly remembered by her children Judy (Wayne) Chalaturnyk, Darlene (William) Evaniuk, John (Connie) Madill and Guy Madill; grandchildren Daniel (Brandy), James, Johnathan, Sherry, Jack (Jennifer), Andrew, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She also leaves to mourn her nieces and nephews on the West Coast specifically the Patrick, Nelson, Nakazawa, Hachey, Clancy, Shaw and Geddes families and extended families. She will also be missed by her lifelong friend Jane Sampson and many close friends of Calgary and Winnipeg. Helen was born and raised in Winnipeg. As a teen attended Gordon Bell High School. She was educated and worked in the business field before marrying Jack in 1950. They raised their children in Ignace, Fort William and Winnipeg. She worked as a nurse's aide and in home support, and at Shakey's Pizza. Helen moved to Vancouver and Calgary and worked at the Sherriff's department until her marriage to Ernie in 1983. They enjoyed square dancing and travelling. Helen was always interested in the Royal Family, dutifully following all their events. Helen's hobbies were plate, spoon and recipe collecting, crocheting, African violets, silk flower arranging, shopping, current and historical affairs. Her claim to fame was being an avid cook and baker. Helen moved to Columbus House (Winnipeg) in 1998, residing there for twelve years and participated in social activities and visiting with new found friends. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street. Private family interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery.
