JEAN ELIZABETH CRETTON June 22, 1927 - June 12, 2011 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Jean Elizabeth Cretton in Carman, MB at the age of 83 years. Mom was predeceased by her parents Dorothy and Neil Galbraith; brother Don Galbraith and twin brother Jack Galbraith. Jean was born and raised in Carman. Upon completion of school Mom became a hairdresser, worked at the Canadian Wheat Board, MTS as a switchboard operator and enjoyed being an educational assistant at Sanford Collegiate. Mom and Dad married on June 11, 1949, settling into the farming community of Sperling, MB, where they became active residents and proudly raised their family. Jean was active in the Sperling community participating in the many organizations and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #4 in Carman, MB. Retirement winters spent in Mesa, Arizona, proved to be some of the most memorable and happy years for Mom where her hospitable, friendly and outgoing nature endured many long lasting friendships. Mom loved the simple pleasures of life. A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandma, nana and great-grandma she treasured her times together with her family. She created a happy home filled with warmth, guidance, music and laughter, which we will never forget. Mom's strength and brave determination in her last few years have been an inspiration. She will be dearly missed. Her family would like to express sincere thanks to the Carman Home Care Services, the wonderful staff at Boyne Towers, Boyne Lodge, and Carman Memorial Hospital for your care, kindness and support extended to Mom over the past few years. In accordance with Mom's wishes a private family service and interment at the Sperling Cemetery, Sperling, MB will take place.
