ARTHUR EVERETT GILES June 28, 1931 - June 17, 2011 It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father and grandfather. Art was predeceased by his second wife Paula, his parents, Gordon and Bertha. Left to cherish his memory are his children with his first wife Vi Giles, daughters: Trina Brazzoni (Robin), Shareen Coates (Dean), Cyndy Rheubottom (Glen); his son from his second marriage, Andrew Giles and his stepson, Mark and family. Art had four grandchildren that will miss him deeply: Tegan, Kirstie, Britt, and Amy. Art was born and raised in Winnipeg and after time with the Canadian Air Force in France, moved to Ottawa. Upon his retirement, Art moved to Calgary to be closer to his grandchildren. Art's favourite pastime was playing golf and he was a true aficionado when it came to jazz. A celebration of Art's life will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at his daughter's residence, 14 Cambrai Cove from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A second celebration to honour Art's life will be held in Ottawa at a future date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
