ESTHER SOPHIE LOUISE SANDE Esther Sophie Louise Sande passed away peacefully on June 15, 2011 at the age of 100 years. Born in Manitoba they moved to British Columbia in 1956 where they built their home in North Surrey. She worked as head housekeeper at the Royal Towers Hotel until she retired at 72. She loved to travel and visit family. She is predeceased by husband Einar; son Ronald; brothers Ludwig, Arthur, Olaf Magne, Lloyd and Norman; sisters Olga, Margaret Camilla. Survived by son Earl; daughters-in-law Linda and Anne; grandchildren Dara, Kevin (Annette), Elexis (Chris), Nathan; great-grandchildren Tyler, Terrell and Isaac; brothers Oli, Walter (Lyla), Clarence, Margaret. A Celebration of her life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on June 20, 2011 at Avalon Surrey Funeral Home, 13288 108 Avenue, Surrey, BC. Viewing will be held prior to the service 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Burial to follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Recreation Department, Kinsmen Place Lodge would be greatly appreciated.
