Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN WALMSLEY (JACK) STEEVES Born May 12, 1923 in Ottawa, ON; passed away June 1, 2011 in Penticton, BC. He is survived by Doreen, his loving wife of 62 years; children, John (Virginia), Jayne Steeves (Gerry Browne) and Jim; grand-children, Kean, Laine and Alexander Steeves. Jack served in the RCAF from 1942 to 1945 before going on to receive a Bachelor of Commerce in 1949; a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering in 1957 and then he studied marketing in the mid-1960s. As a Professional Engineer, Jack worked for Gulf Oil and Can-tex Drilling from 1949 to 1953 and from 1958 worked for Genstar Cement Limited. He loved spending time with his family, especially at the cottage, and was a devoted dog lover. He was always willing to lend a hand and neighbours could always depend on him for his very skilled help. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 9, 2011, 10:00 a.m., at St. Barbara's Anglican Church in Okanagan Falls, BC. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be directed to the Okanagan Collie Rescue (5620 Grant Street, Burnaby, BC, V5B 2K3). Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.everdenrust.com
