WILLIAM JOSEPH REYNOLDS (BILL) 1930 - 2011 Bill, a kind and gentle man, peacefully passed away June 12, 2011. He was predeceased by his parents, Selena (nee Darling) and Edward Thomas Reynolds. Born at the Old Grace Hospital on Arlington Street in Winnipeg, he moved to Balmoral at the age of three, following the death of his Mother. Bill lived with his Mother's sister Aunt Ester and Uncle Frank Edgerton. Still a young lad, Bill suffered another great loss with his Aunt Ester's passing. Bill worked hard at farming most of his life; he developed and ran his own construction business, retiring to Stonewall. Bill was respected by all who knew him. He always made time to visit a friend or give his support to the community. Bill was a staunch supporter of the NDP, proudly displayed his picture taken with Tommy Douglas, and was very happy to see his NDP party become the official opposition this year. His interests were varied, such as curling and country music being two of them. Bill's parents immigrated to Canada from County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. Bill maintained his close connection to family and friends, travelling throughout his life back to Northern Ireland, and hosting welcomed guests here. Bill will be dearly missed by the Penman family, the community of Balmoral, the residents at the Stonewall and District Lions Manor, and all the many loving relatives and dear friends in Ireland. A celebration of Bill's life will take place at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, June 26 at the Lions Community Centre, 5 Keith Cosens Drive in Stonewall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Society or a charity of your choice. Bill's family would like to give special thanks to the exceptional care given with kindness and professionalism to Bill by Stonewall homecare and hospital staff, and to you all, who dropped in for little visits and shared your precious time. A private interment will be held at a later date. Those we hold closest to our hearts never truly leave us. They live on in the kindness they have shared and the love they have brought to our lives . May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon the fields. And, until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
