GEORGE EDWARD HOLDEN Our family sadly announces the peaceful passing of our father George Edward Holden, beloved father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend to many on Friday, June 17, 2011, at St. Boniface Hospital. Dad was 83 years old. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Alice Holden, brother Joe and sister Molly. He is survived by his dear friend Gerda Chernoff, and his four children and their families: Robert Holden (Onalea, Cory, Colin), Glen Holden (Kim, Brandi, Ashdyn), Shelly Paton (Bruce), Kelly Holden (Carol, Dante, Awen, Peyton), as well as many nieces and nephews. Dad was born and raised in East Braintree, Manitoba, where he went to school and later moved and raised his family in Winnipeg. Dad was a crane operator and worked for many years in the construction industry. Dad loved to travel, play music, and spend time with his family and friends, especially at the lake. Dad, we love you and you will be in our hearts forever. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., St. Emile's Church, 566 St. Anne's Rd. Interment to follow at Green Acres Cemetery, Hwy. #1 East.
