Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN JOYCE PEARSON Peacefully on June 16, 2011, with her family by her side, at Grace Hospital Joyce passed away at age of 84. She was predeceased by her husband Wesley, daughter Susan McKee and mother Helen Symonds. Joyce is survived by daughter Joann Young, son Rick Pearson (Debra) and son-in-law Russell McKee; grandchildren Joy Banera (Jeff), Krista Helash (Lyle), Victoria Hume (Jason), James Young (Mandy), Jennifer Neufeld (Ashley), Kevin McKee, Alyssa Pearson and Justin Pearson; great-grandchildren Nik, Wesley, Colb, Kyle, Robin, Deryk, Tristin, Stephanie, Cale, Tabitha, Alex, Hannah, Bailey, Olivia and Jordyn. Mom was born in Winnipeg where she lived all her life meeting her future husband in 1945 and marrying just three months after meeting Wes. Mom stayed at home with her three children till she returned to work at Eatons working part-time in the Stationary department. At Christmas time she would work in the Christmas shop, where she received numerous compliments on her tree decorating. With opening of Eatons at Polo Park mom moved to her full time position in the Stationary department, working for the Company for the next 25 years. Mom and Dad became world travellers in 1972 with their first trip to England, numerous trips followed till his death, Mom continued the trips for many years to come whether overseas or by train to the west coast. Mom always took pride in her flower display at the house, planting numerous boxes of flowers. Mom was also known for her shortbread and Christmas cake. Mom also looked forward to any family gatherings, Mom will be deeply missed by her family. Two and half years ago mom courageously faced a diagnosis of cancer. Mom was always brave, her spirit never faltered throughout the fight and we would like to thank Dr. P. Harris and staff at Cancer Clinic at Grace Hospital. As per mother's wishes cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be held In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce's memory to the Grace Cancer Care.
