Born: Dec 04, 1932
Date of Passing: Jun 24, 2011
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET EMILIA DANIELSON (nee THORGILSSON) December 4, 1932 - June 24, 2011 Mom died peacefully at home with loved ones by her side. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Leonard, her children Brian (Lindsay), Barry (Irene), Grant (Carol), Ron (Katherine), grandchildren Brett and Scott (Jenn), sisters-in-law Runa and Kristine, nieces and nephews Ellen (Bob), Fred (Diane), Colleen (Gary), special grandchildren Georgia, Briggs and Steele. Margaret was predeceased by her parents Oskar and Helga, brothers Arnor and Oskar, mother-in-law Alfiva, father-in-law Haraldur, brother-in-law Raymond and nephew Kenneth. Mom lived in Oak Point until 1946 when her family moved to Lundar. Mom and Dad married on August 9, 1952 and she lived in Lundar the remainder of her life. She was an active member of several organizations, including Order of the Eastern Star, Order of the Royal Purple and Grettir C.A.A.A. She was involved in the local Minor Hockey Organization for many years. The only time Mom missed watching one of her boys play hockey was when two or more of them were playing at the same time in different arenas. She enjoyed curling and had a keen interest in Manitoba's professional sports teams. She organized the initial Red Cross swim program in Lundar and was a founding member of the Lundar Junior B Falcons. Margaret was known throughout the community for her baking and knitting prowess, receiving several awards at the annual Lundar Fair. Mom was a tireless volunteer and was willing to lend a hand whenever called upon. Amma will always be special because of the summers she spent with Brett and Scott. Car trips to the lake were a special event since the three of them would sing together because the radio was not working. The mystery of the missing donuts was finally solved when Scott confessed he would eat them almost as fast as she put them on the paper to cool so that they would leave no tell tale oil footprint. All who visited for coffee or lunch knew of Mom's generosity, specifically that no thanks meant more. No one was allowed to leave the table hungry. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Goda nott elskan Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the Lundar Lutheran Church with Pastor Terry Throndson officiating. Interment to follow in the Otto Churchyard Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her sons Brian, Barry, Grant and Ron, and her grandsons Brett and Scott. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements by: ARNASON FUNERAL HOME Ashern - Lundar 1-204-768-2072 1-866-323-3593
