MARTHE DIONNE (nee PARENT) December 17, 1921 - June 24, 2011 Peacefully, and surrounded by family, Marthe Dionne passed away on June 24, 2011 after a short but difficult battle with cancer at the age of 89. Marthe leaves to treasure her memory, 11 children: Ghislaine (Réginald Robert), Mariette, Jean-Marc (Adrienne), Laurette (Serge Charbonneau), Rita (Marcel Moquin), Carmen (Sid Verhoeve), Léo (Eileen), Paul (Debbie), René (Judy), Fernand (Ruth), Denis (Bernadette); 16 grandchildren: Normand, Darryl, Troy, Sean, Lynn, Joël, Sylvie, Vanessa, Melissa, Michelle, Jo-Ann, Jacqueline, Natalie, Nicole, Karen and Richard; and six great-grandchildren: Aiden, Madison, Riley, Zachary, Joshua and Lukasz. She also leaves one sister, Laurette Lavigne and two sisters-in-law, Pauline Parent and Rose-Hélène Arcand. She was predeceased by her husband, Jean-Baptiste in 1992, one daughter, Pauline in 1996 and two sons, Marcel in 1993 and Claude in 1979. The family thanks the wonderful staff at Victoria General Hospital, 5th floor south for their care and loving kindness. We also thank all her numerous friends for making her life an enjoyable one. Cremation has taken place. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Mary Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Drive in Fort Garry on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. The interment will be held at the St. Joseph Cemetery at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
