MARGARET ANN LORD (nee STOUT) Suddenly on Thursday, June 23, 2011 Margaret passed away into the presence of her Lord and Saviour. She was predeceased by her parents William and Edna, sisters Mary Gibson and Pearl Delorme, and brother Bill Stout. Left to mourn her passing are her beloved husband, John, her daughters Marilyn Hansen, Carolyn O'Neill (Barry), and Darlene Belanger (David), and grandchildren Taylor, Ainsley, Austin, Benjamin, and Jacquelyn as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family. Margaret was born on July 5, 1930 to Bill and Edna Stout and was raised in Norwood where she attended King George V School and Norwood Collegiate. She graduated with her business diploma and worked for various offices in Winnipeg. She met John, her beloved , in 1948 and soon after marrying moved to Gunton. They resided in Eden and Holland for a short time before settling in Stonewall to raise their three girls . After retirement, Mom and Dad returned to Winnipeg where they were actively involved with grandchildren, cultural, and church events. Mom was a devoted wife and mother. She loved her family and friends dearly and relished in all of their accomplishments. She was famous for hosting fun-filled dinners, birthdays, and holiday gatherings and extended this warm hospitality to everyone. She ensured the tradition of music continued to play a large part in our lives. She supported the Arts by volunteering to serve on various committees in the community. She enjoyed travelling across Canada and the United States with memorable trips to Europe. Belief in God was at the center of Marg's life. She accepted every opportunity to serve Him whether it was teaching Sunday school, organizing D.V.B.S., Five Day Club, and Christmas pageants, leading the Youth Group, and playing the piano for many church services and choirs and later at senior centres. Her unwavering faith in Him anchored her life at all times. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 30 at 11:00 a.m., at Cross Church, 1787 Logan Avenue. Viewing will be one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cross Church Zambia Project or to a charity of your choice.
