DENISE DESROCHERS (nee CHEVALIER) (1926 - 2011) Peacefully on June 26, 2011, our mother Denise passed away after a brief illness. Mom was predeceased by her parents Robert and Matilda Chevalier, husband Tony, and her sister Yvonne Almey. Left to mourn her passing are her brother Bobby (Annette) Chevalier, sister Cecil (Paul) Hacault, daughter Doreen Davies, son Ken Desrochers and daughter-in-law Janis Desrochers. Also left behind are her grand-children Tara-Joy, Wayne, Chantelle, Jeff, cherished great-grandchildren Logan, Paige and Cole, along with many nieces and nephews. Mom was born in St. Alphonse, Manitoba and taught school in the rural area of Manitoba and the St. Boniface School Division for over 40 years. Her passion for learning and educating was well known and admired to all those who knew her. Mom had many passions: travelling, swimming, badminton, square dancing and of course her love for the game of bridge. Many an hour was spent playing, administrating and teaching this game of skill and talent. She often spoke of the many friends she had made over the years while being entertained with her Club members. Mom was a devoted Catholic and an active member of Christ the King Parish in St. Vital. Her faith made her strong to endure the heartaches one experiences in life and provided her with courage to face the ordeal she faced as of late. Her many friends she has made over the years in teaching, neighbours and bridge provided her with a full and vibrant life. She cherished these relationships her entire life and the family would like to thank all of you for being a part of her life and memories. Mom's love of family was unquestioned and devoted. Her inner strength and faith helped us all with our trials and tribulations that we encountered over the years. Her guidance will be greatly missed. We would also like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital, 8th floor, Palliative Care, for the loving care they provided mom in her final days. Your kindness will not soon be forgotten. Service will be conducted at CHRIST THE KING PARISH, 847 St. Mary's Road on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 775-2220.
