VICTORIA (VICKIE) GARLINSKI May 24, 1934 March 28, 2011 The family of Vickie Garlinski sadly announces her sudden passing on March 28, 2011. Vickie was predeceased by her father William (1959), and her mother Bessie (1981). She is survived by five sisters and four brothers. Vickie was born in Gilbert Plains, MB. She received her elementary education in rural country schools and graduated from the Dauphin Collegiate. After graduation, she was first employed at a legal office in Shoal Lake, MB. and then moved on to Winnipeg, where she worked in various offices while furthering her education at Red River College and the University of Winnipeg. In recent years, Vickie did much traveling across Canada, the United States and Europe. She was especially interested in the Ukraine, actively studying the Ukrainian culture, reading, writing and conversing in the language with the friends she corresponded with there. Vickie's faith was a very important part of her life. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 7 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mary's Cathedral, 353 St. Mary Ave. A private burial will take place.
