GLORIA LOUISE STEAR (GOROWSKI)
Date of Passing: Jun 24, 2011
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLORIA LOUISE STEAR (nee GOROWSKI) After a lengthy, courageous battle with Parkinson's; it is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Gloria Louise Stear, on Friday, June 24, 2011 at the Charleswood Care Centre in Winnipeg at the age of 80 years. Left to cherish Gloria's memory is her beloved husband Kenneth Eduard Stear; son Kenneth Victor Stear (Cecile); grandsons Jason Kenneth Stear, Justin Vincent Stear; sister Margerette Isaacs; brother Edward Gorowski (Myrna) and their respective families. She was predeceased by her parents, Caroline and Frank; and brother David Gorowski. Gloria and Ken married on December 19, 1953. She was a wife and mother before beginning a lengthy career in various capacities at the downtown Eaton's store. In retirement, Gloria, along with husband Ken, became explorers of sorts. Yearly trips to Fargo to pick up things for the kids were enjoyed. Sorties' to various small towns in southern Manitoba became a regular pastime. Discovering new restaurants and places to shop became a regular hobby. Genealogy of the Stear family and finally the Gorowski family was explored by visiting various libraries, churches, cemeteries and by plenty of old fashioned leg work. Remarkably, this was all accomplished without the aid of a computer. Two books were finally completed after many years of intensive labour. Gloria considered it a labour of love. She always put her family firmly in front of her even as her health deteriorated. It is indeed an honour to have had the good fortune to have spent the years we had with her. We will never forget her and her love for us. She was a kind, gentle, selfless soul that we can only strive to be. We miss you dearly and love you forever. In compliance with Gloria's wishes, there will be no Funeral Service. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Charleswood Care Centre whose help, kindness and consideration was exemplary and we are truly grateful. "The love of a wonderful mother and wife Is something that always lives on, Filling the days with sweet memories Long after her presence is gone. We will always feel the warmth of her caring, Her wisdom will never depart, For the love a of a wonderful mother and wife Forever lives on in our hearts."
