JOHN (JACK) JOSEPH DAWSON John (Jack) Joseph Dawson passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Born in Brudore, County Antrim, Northern Ireland on April 24, 1921. Jack came to Canada with his family in 1929 and settled in the Ashville District near Dauphin, MB. During his younger years he worked for several farmers in the area. In 1942 he entered service with the Canadian National Express and retired from the company in 1983 as Regional Manager. Jack always enjoyed his work and the many friends he made over the years. He and his beloved wife Helve, enjoyed many trips to Ireland, Germany and Holland, and in their motorhome throughout Canada and the States. Jack was predeceased by his first wife Anne (Goskie), his father John Craig in Northern Ireland in 1925, his mother Elizabeth (nee Reid), his stepfather William Dawson, as well as his brothers Bill, Victor, George and Aunt Jean Reid (No. Ireland). Left to mourn is his loving wife Helve, his son Randy, brother Joe (Merle), sister May and sisters-in-law Vi and Helen. Also left to mourn is his grandson Sean and family, granddaughter Kelly, stepson Stephen (Marion) and step-granddaughters Shannon and Jennifer, as well as nieces and nephews in Canada and Northern Ireland. A heartfelt thank you to all the Staff of the St. Norbert Care Home for their wonderful, loving care extended to Jack and our family. As well as a special thank you to Toni. In accordance with Jack's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 200 Dalhousie Drive, Winnipeg, on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. No flowers please.
