She was predeceased by her parents Arden and Nell Trickey, her husband Ronald Andrew MacIntosh and her daughter Sandra Helen. Surviving are her four sons, Ronald (Tammy), Laurie (Lynda), Ted (Pat) and Gary (Maxine); eight grandchildren, Ronnie (Angie), Scott, Shauna (Boris), Kerry, Andrea, Ian, Kirsten, Garrett and great-grandsons Julien and Alexander. Helen's great-great-grandfather Alexander Sutherland left Kildonan, Scotland in 1817 with Lord Selkirk to settle in Kildonan, Winnipeg. Mom spent all her life in Winnipeg and attended Wolseley School, Laura Secord, Riverbend School for Girls, the University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba (Home Economics). Helen and Ron met in Grade 12 at United College, married in 1946 and lived for 50 years on Portage Avenue in St. James. Mom really enjoyed her home at Vasa Lund Estates in Charleswood where she made many good friends. She was a life member at Westminster United Church, Silver Heights United, and St. James Presbyterian Church. Mom volunteered at Grace Hospital for 36 years, which was an important part of both Mom and Dad's lives. They had many happy travels to educational conventions and golf holidays. Close to her heart was the cottage at Victoria Beach and the church there. Mom played the piano, sang in choirs, knit up a storm, and loved cooking dinner for family and friends. She often bragged that her sons all turned out to be good cooks and good carpenters . Our Mom felt blessed to have had a rich life with a loving family, and many wonderful friends. She thanked God every night. Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2011 at St. James Presbyterian Church, 1476 Portage Avenue.
