ROBERT FRYATT 1934 - 2011 Robert passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg. Robert leaves to mourn his children: Jack (Brenda), Glen (Amanda), Ken (Catherine) and daughter Lynn (Mitch); his grandchildren, Matthew, Honor, Robert, Brandon, Katie, Liam, Dylan and Kyle; sister Joan (Robert) and special friend, Susan. He was predeceased by his parents Walter and Florence Fryatt, brother, Dennis and sister, Jean. Robert had four main loves in his life; fishing, gardening, cooking and his children and grandchildren. Robert will be remembered for his numerous fishing stories and special times spent with his sons and life-long friends, Earl and Ted. About fishing he says: "It's fun; it's about catching the big one". He claimed, with a smile, that a big fish took his rod at the Winnipeg River. Robert loved gardening and spent several years in St. Andrew's, Manitoba as a market gardener. He enjoyed the fresh air, sunshine and hard work and it was a happy day when people would come and help him weed the garden. Robert also loved cooking. His friends and family would marvel at his amazing creations; Robert made the best lobster burgers ever! Robert loved his family and he will be greatly missed. Robert had a wonderful sense of humour and quick wit. We will all remember the fun times we had playing cribbage together. Cremation has taken place. At Robert's request, a graveside service was held at Brookside Cemetery on Thursday, June 30, 2011 with Pastor Thomas Lurvey presiding. The family would like to sincerely thank all the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Riverview Health Centre for the excellent care that Robert received.
