Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIE THERESE BALDWIN (nee WOLFE) Marie Therese Baldwin (nee Wolfe) passed away suddenly on Monday, June 27, 2011 at home, the Canoe Club, Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her husband William Donald Baldwin on October 1, 2006, her sister Joanne, and brother Henry. She will be missed by her children David (Mara), Jayne (Allan), Kirk (Judith), Aynsley (Mark) and James (Atchan); her brother George (Toni), sister-in-law Betty Housen (Maurice); her grandchildren Zach, Madeleine, Caitlyn, Ian, Mariah, Samuel, Jeremy, and Joshua, stepgrandson Mathew (Serenity), stepgreat-grandson, Liam, and several nieces and nephews. Marie was born in Chapleau, Ontario on May 8, 1928. She married Don in Kenora, Ontario on October 14, 1950 and they moved to Hamilton, Ontario to begin their life together. They moved their family to Winnipeg in 1957. Marie was a very sociable person and loved to share stories, ideas and opinions with all kinds of people. She loved reading and worked in city and provincial libraries and for the provincial government in a youth jobs program. Marie helped spread appreciation of visual arts through her volunteer work at the Winnipeg Art Gallery in many capacities over many decades, including presenting the results of her reading about artists and their work. She also worked with adult literacy programs. Family and friends were the focus of Marie's private life. She worked hard to get people together, she kept her friends throughout her life, and made everyone feel welcome to her home. In celebration of her life, a service will be held at 11:00 on Monday, July 4, 2011 in St. Ignatius Church, 255 Stafford Street, Winnipeg, MB. Private interment will take place in Lake of the Woods Cemetery, Kenora, ON. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Winnipeg Art Gallery. Thomson In The Park Funeral Home 925-1120
