IRENE SOPHIE MEDWID (nee KUSNICK) July 6, 1950 June 28, 2011 Peacefully with her family at her side, Irene was lifted into eternal life. Irene is survived by her loving soul mate Don of 43 years, her daughter Donna, son Dwayne and two grandchildren Keith and Amber. Left to mourn are her mother Nellie Kusnick; brothers Leonard (Eve), Ed, Allan, Lawrence, Richard (Faye), Douglas (Nancy); sisters Carole (Steven), Gloria (Grant); sister-in-law Rose Kusnick; and many nephews and nieces. Predeceased by her father John; brother Albert; sister Shirley Sedleski; and sister-in-law Mona Kusnick. Irene was grown and raised in Komarno and enjoyed the country, especially the campfires, picking mushrooms, Saskatoon's and cranberries. She loved to can and spent many years canning fruit and pickling. She loved to spend happy times with her children, grandchildren and family. Irene worked at Willmar/Jeld-wen Windows for 26 years before retiring in January of this year. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 6, at 11:00 a.m. at the Teulon MacKenzie Funeral Chapel. Instead of flowers, Irene requested donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Polson Cemetery.
