Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHENRY FEUER September 19, 1942 - November 5, 2010 It is with profound sadness that the family of Henry Feuer announces his sudden passing on November 5, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Henry was predeceased by his father Oscar (1974), mother Gitel (1989), brothers Lionel (1990) and Arnold (2001), father-in-law Harvey (1996) and mother-in-law Rose (2010) Herstein. He is survived by Reeva (Herstein), his beloved wife of 42 years, and children Jeremy (Sima), Joshua, and Jessica Stone (Chad). Also surviving Henry are his grandchildren Nomi and Aaron Feuer, his brothers Elliot, Morris (Beryl), Charles (Georgiaday Hall), sisters-in-law Lil Feuer, Sharon Feuer, brother-in-law, sister-in-law Larry and Norma Herstein, and many dear nephews, nieces, cousins and friends around the world. Henry was born in Estevan, SK, the youngest of six boys. He moved with his family to Winnipeg in the mid 1940s where his parents owned a grocery store on the corner of Alfred and Salter in the north end of Winnipeg. He was a star athlete in high school and was an early participant in the emerging Rock and Roll scene in the 1960s, singing with The Sherwoods and later, The Triads. In the late 1990s, along with his bandmates, Henry was inducted into the Manitoba Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Henry had a gentle soul and lighthearted personality that made him instantly lovable. He was the very definition of a people person', always putting the needs of others ahead of his own, endearing himself to everyone who crossed his path. Whether he was on the DEW line near the Arctic Circle, where he worked after high school; building and operating hotels in Waskada, MB and Calgary, AB; in Winnipeg - which he loved - and where he lived the majority of his life; or in Las Vegas where he and Reeva lived for the past decade, Henry made life-long friends wherever he went. Henry coveted the simple pleasures in life: spending time with family and friends and watching his children and grandchildren grow to embody the deep values and rich traditions instilled in him from a young age. Henry will be remembered for his kind, sweet, generous way, his sense of humour and gentle spirit. He was imbued with these qualities and passed them to his children, encouraging them to be curious and humble, to pursue a higher education and most of all to steward their lives with their heads and hearts. He was a good husband, father, Zaida and friend. Funeral services took place November 11, 2010 at the Etz Chayim Congregation in Winnipeg, with burial at Hebrew Sick Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brian Feuer, Paul Feuer, Dean Feuer, Chad Stone, Phil Yakir and Larry Herstein. Honorary pallbearers were Elliot Feuer, Morris Feuer and Charles Feuer. To his family he loved so dearly, and who will miss him so greatly, he leaves a trail of goodness that will burn brightly through the generations.
