LILLIAN KATHERINE VADEBONCOEUR (PETERSON) Lillian passed away peacefully on June 25, 2011, at St. Boniface Hospital. Lillian was predeceased by her parents John and Lydia Peterson, brother John and sister Anna. Lillian will be sadly missed by her loving husband Herald and special pet Sheba. She will also be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Joyce Peterson of Brandon; nieces Diane (Ken) Gardiner of Virden; Debbie (Brock) Gallant of Brandon; nephews John (Roxanne) Peterson of Deloraine; and Bob Peterson of Boissevain and their children Jayare and Jarrett Gardiner; Nathan (Sara) Gallant; Cody Gallant; Nicole (Trevor) Foster, Carsen and Kiera; Jamie (Dallas) Rowe and Wyatt; Johnny Peterson. Lillian was born in Winnipeg on January 28, 1924, and grew up at Seven Sister Falls where she met her future husband Herald Vadeboncoeur. On November 22, 1951, Lillian married her longtime sweetheart and friend Herald. They enjoyed a wonderful life together for 59 years. They especially enjoyed spending their summers at Nutimik and Dorothy Lake. They spent many enjoyable Christmases and other holidays with family and friends. Lillian graduated with a degree in Home Economics from the University of Manitoba. Upon completion of her education, she started her career with Eaton's. She began working in the Lab, and shortly thereafter became Eaton's Fashion Coordinator. She hosted a TV program called What's New At Eaton's . She travelled extensively around the world in her role as Fashion Coordinator. In the 60's she had the honor of being chosen as one of the Top Ten Best Dressed Ladies in Canada. Lillian will also be missed very much by her close friends and everyone who knew her. Lillian, we will cherish our wonderful memories. God bless you, we love you and we will all miss you. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 9Z9 A graveside memorial service will be held at the Riverland Cemetery in Lac du Bonnet at 1:00 p.m. on July 5, 2011.
