MARGARET DYCK KRAHN 1918 - 2011 Born March 30, 1918, to John and Agatha Dyck at Burwalde, near Winkler, Margaret was the second youngest of 13 children. At 17 she was baptized in Dead Horse Creek by H. S. Voth. After five years of study at PBI, she was persuaded of her call to a foreign field and left, in 1947, for the Congo under M.B. Missions. There she served in a dispensary, as a school director, and in literature development. Retiring in 1987, she settled in Winkler, becoming a deaconess in the M.B. Church, joining a care group, and volunteering in the hospital. In 1992 she married Peter Krahn (former owner of the Bible Book Shop). Together they volunteered at Salem Home and opened their home to friends. In 2008 failing health meant a move to Winnipeg. After many hospital stays she passed peacefully at Donwood Personal Care Home on July 1, 2011. She leaves husband Peter; brother Peter Dyck, and Peter's children, Dorothy Cheechoo (Roy), Viola Virts (Paul), Arthur (Marji), Esther, Elvira MacInnes (Dave), Dave (Ellen), Dan (Brenda), Paul (Margruite), Marianne (Vic Bartel), Tim (Dalila Seckar) and many nieces and nephews. Her family thanks the Donwood staff and doctors for their gracious and loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mennonite Brethren Missions.
