DOUGLAS JAMES FROST 1928 - 2011 Peacefully on June 30 at Portage District General Hospital, Doug Frost passed away after a brief illness at the age of 83. Dad will be sadly missed and is survived by his wife Hazel; daughter Marleen (Jim) Wawryk from Landmark, MB; sons, Bob from Fort McMurray, AB, Ron (Johanna) from Calgary, AB and Tim (Joanne) from Elm Creek, MB. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Dad was born in Carman, MB on February 27, 1928 to James and Ethel Frost. He married Hazel Holmes on July 7, 1951 and together they raised their four children on the family farm in the Wingham District. Dad loved both cattle and grain farming and did so throughout his life until he retired from the farm in 2003. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Portage District General Hospital for making him so comfortable in his final days. Service will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Elm Creek Community Hall, with viewing prior. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elm Creek St. Andrew's United Church Memorial Fund or the charity of your choice.
