Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD JOHN SHERRING With a deep sense of loss we sadly announce the sudden passing of Richard John Sherring, age 40, on June 29, 2011. He leaves in mourning his beloved daughter Evelyn, parents Robert and Sheryl, brother Trevor (Sanna) and nieces Iida and Emma; grandparents Roberta and Patrick Casey; aunt Patricia (James) Suderman; aunt Dawn Parker; uncle Ronyth (Linda) Brady; numerous first, second and third cousins; friend Lisa Wiwsoniski and Chrissie; ex-wife Tracy Sherring; Manitoba Hydro family; numerous friends and extended families. Richard was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Cyril and Winnifred Sherring and maternal grandfather William Brady. Richard (Rick) was born October 17, 1970 in Calgary and moved with his family to Vernon, BC in 1980 then on to Winnipeg in 1982. He attended Hedges Junior High, Westwood Collegiate and graduated from Sturgeon Creek Regional Secondary School in 1989. Rick also completed several post-secondary courses at South Winnipeg Technical College and also by correspondence. Rick volunteered and was later employed at Videon Cable. Richard's career with Manitoba Hydro began in 1991, and he worked most recently at the Wuskwatim Generating Station in northern Manitoba. Richard was also involved in CUPE, IBEW and REESE throughout his career. He attended conferences from Vancouver to Montreal and promoted the rights of persons with disabilities. From early on in his career, Richard was determined to reach his goal as a video or television producer. He had since produced several excellent videos, some of which won awards. Richard's primary passion in life was spending time with his daughter Evelyn and she was the joy in his life. Whenever time permitted, Richard participated in fundraisers such as the Riverview Ride for Life. Richard was fortunate to develop some very close and true friends throughout his life. We will miss Richard's honesty, wit, humour, smile, laughter, and presence. You are welcome to join us in a celebration of Richard's life on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Additional parking is available at the Brookside Cemetery. For all out of town family and friends, live webcasting of Richard's service will be available by accessing nbardal.mb.ca Cremation has taken place; inurnment will occur with the family at a later date by LeClaire Brothers Funeral Services at Chapel Lawn. Should you wish to express how Richard touched your life, you are welcome to do so. Reverend Gary Killen will request contributors to come forth at a specified time. A basket of condolence will be made available, if you so choose.
