JEAN FISCHER (nee MCLEAN) 1922 - 2011 Jean Fischer passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 2, 2011 in Concordia Place at the age of 89. Jean was born in Brooklyn, Manitoba, May 25, 1922 to John and Annie McLean. She enjoyed her school years and athletics. She loved Canada, hockey, her garden and Laclu. Much of her life she had serious health concerns, which she bore with cheerfulness. Jean was predeceased by her husband August Sigudur; brothers John (Agnes) and James; sister Annie Houston (Tom); daughter-in-law Kathleen. She is survived by her daughter Linda; son Thomas (Mary Lynne) and daughter Joan (Al); two grandsons Gus and Gregory as well as sister-in-law Maureen McLean; niece Doreen Coverdale (James) as well as numerous nieces, nephews friends and neighbours. Especially helpful to Jean were neighbours Mona Malley, Eunice and Ray Wlock and Angus MacIver. Jean was helped much on her journey by her sister Annie, son Thomas, daughter Joan and daughters-in-law Kathleen and Mary Lynne. The family wishes to thank the staff and residents of the Luther Home and Concordia Place for their excellence in caring for Jean during a difficult time. A celebration of Jean's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street.
