ERIN CAIN July 20, 1965 - July 2, 2011 With heavy hearts we announce the untimely passing of our daughter Erin. Surrounded by loved ones throughout her last days, Erin so very bravely started her journey home. In the garden of humanity, Erin was a flower, sweet, vibrant, colourful, gentle and fragrant with love. This gentle lady with an ever-present sense of humour, had a wonderful gift of taking away our troubles, easing our pain, and making us laugh. Erin had uncommon courage, strength and resolve which stayed with her to the end. Residing in Norwood all her life, she is survived by her beautiful and loving daughters, Hannah and Paige; parents, Janet and Pat Cain; four devoted sisters, Allison, Cheryl, Michelle and Andrea; along with six niece and nephews Leah, Brett, James, Sean, Trevor and Matthew. Ever-supportive brothers-in-law, Mark Halldorson, Paul Aquin and Drew Claussen. Erin was devoted to her family and they were her number one priority in everything she did. We were so fortunate to have had her in our lives and will treasure our memories of her always. Erin's life journey was enhanced wonderfully by the good people she worked with at the Winnipeg Police Service for over 23 years. We would be remiss if we did not acknowledge and thank her loving neighbours for their cherished support. Thank you Judy and Bob, Karen and Glen, Tarase and Cris, Donna and Ken, Matti and Lorrie, Silvia and Teresa, you all deserve an immeasurable amount of Air Miles to Heaven. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all the doctors and nurses of Health Sciences Centre, CancerCare Clinic. We especially wish to thank the staff at Riverview Palliative Care Centre. They were caring, gentle, compassionate and made her last days peaceful. From all of us and from our dear Erin, we can't thank them enough. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of your choice. Respecting Erin's wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Emile Parish, 556 St. Anne's Road at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 7, 2011. Father Ronald Leger, C.S.V. presiding. A private interment will be held at a later date. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I just saw this obituary tonight almost 10 years beyond her passing. We lost touch after I went to Nova Scotia. I remember driving with Erin in that Fiero of hers that she enjoyed so much n 1989. A GREAT AND CARING PERSON I WILL NEVER FORGET. - Posted by: Stephen (Friend) on: Oct 16, 2020

  • Pat and Janet, we were unaware of the passing of your wonderful daughter, Erin. She was a joy to meet and was a tremendous joy to your life. My mom and dad, Glenn and Genny, were heartbroken when they heard the news. You are in our thoughts and prayers and we will be in touch soon. Take care and may God be with you during your time of need. - Posted by: Christine Jourdain (Friend) on: Aug 03, 2011
