DOUGLAS ADAMSON It is with great sadness that the family of Douglas Adamson announces his passing after a battle with cancer, on Saturday, July 2, 2011, at the age of 55 years. Douglas will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Bernadine; mother Evelyn; brother Robert (Elaine); nephew Scott, and his aunts and uncles; mother-in-law Anne Franz; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins and friends. Doug was predeceased by his father William, brother James, grandparents, and father-in-law John Franz. Douglas was born January 5, 1956 in Winnipeg, MB. He grew up in Elmwood and attended George V, Elmwood High, and Tec Voc High School. In his early years he spent summers in Teulon with the Logan family. Douglas was employed at Dominion Bridge for 25 years and later at New Flyer. Devoted to his friends and family he lived his life with enthusiasm, perseverance and laughter. He enjoyed spending time in Gimli, going to the lake and sightseeing throughout the Interlake. To fulfill Douglas' wishes a private family service will be held. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of the Gimli Community Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
