Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY JESSIE ALICE (MCTAGGART) GEDDES Dorothy Jessie Alice (McTaggart) Geddes passed away on July 5, 2011 with her family by her side. Dorothy was born September 3, 1924, the eldest child of Bill and Jessie McTaggart. She lived her early years in Snowflake and Pilot Mound. She was predeceased by her brothers Bill and Jim, and sisters Mona, Audrey and Bonnie-Jean. Dorothy was her father's special helper from the time she was a small girl until she set out on her own to go to work. She attended school at Star Mound and finished her schooling in Pilot Mound. She worked in the local dry goods and grocery store and married Clare Geddes, moving into the Goudney district to farm. Dorothy and Clare went for a walk and talked about all the blessings they had received on their 64th wedding anniversary just two weeks ago. Dorothy is survived by her husband Clare, her sister Joyce Raitt, children Pamela Salzburger, Eric, Earl and his wife Helen-Ann, Michael, and Maurice and his wife Jane as well as 10 grandchildren, Sheene, Gina, Tiffany, Ryan, Sohmer, Tiera, Matthew, Tiana, Barney and Charles, and nine great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Cameron, Dylan, Kaleb, Kaden, Dallas, Tanner, Lu Lu and Ava Claire Dorothy is fondly remembered for her hard work and commitment to others. She spent many years as the Sunday School Superintendent ensuring her children and many others had a positive Christian experiences early in their lives, she was also the head leader for the C.G.I.T. program in Pilot Mound. As well she was an important part of the Pilot Mound United Church Council for many years as well as leading and participating in the United Church Womens group right up until her passing. Dorothy was a great cook and her pies were always a favourite at the Fall Suppers and of course with her family on all occasions. Dorothy biggest commitment was to her children. She would take them on driving trips around Manitoba and into the United States making sure they knew the world was bigger than just the farm at Pilot Mound. She was always teaching them the important little lessons of life. She never stopped loving her children and many grandchildren no matter what they got up to. She was known for her hard work and creative nature, she was often asked to write a poem to celebrate special occasions for family and friends. Whether it was a birthday or anniversary or a picnic at Barbers Lake with the Hughson, Davidson and Cavers families she was always a star and made whomever the poem was designed for feel like they were the most important person in the world. Dorothy: wife, sister, mother, grandma and great-grandma will be missed by all of her family but never forgotten. Her memory will be cherished by all of us and all of those who knew her as the most caring and giving person we will ever know. We love you and miss you terribly but we know that you are dancing with your sisters and brothers while your Dad is playing his violin. Keep a watchful eye on us too.
