FLORENCE ISABELL ROGERS May 26, 1921 - June 29, 2011 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother at the age of 90 years. Florence was predeceased by her husband Clifford, and her parents Cissie and James McLellan. Left to cherish her memory are her sons; Bryan (Andrea) Rogers of Manotick ON, Larry (Donna) Rogers of Greensboro NC; four grandchildren, Lisa (Rayna), Shelagh (Jason), Kirsten (Jon) of ON, Glen (Marni) of BC; five great-grandchildren, London, Aidan and Kennedy, Kaelan and Teagan. Also lovingly remembered by Jack and Elsie, Peggy, Helen, Valerie, Iris, Pat, Ed, and numerous other family members and friends. Florence spent her childhood in Transcona where she met and married her high school sweetheart Clifford in 1941. Together they shared many wonderful years raising their family and enjoying fun times at the Grand Beach cottage. Florence especially enjoyed bird watching and her garden at Grand Beach. Florence and Cliff were able to have 12 years as snowbirds in Clearwater, Florida surrounded by both new and old friends. They also enjoyed travelling, with trips to, Great Britain, Hawaii and visits to family in Ontario, North Carolina, Alberta and British Columbia. After Cliff's death, Florence continued to travel, adding trips to Scotland, the Caribbean and more trips to Hawaii to her itinerary. The family would like to extend their gratitude and special thanks to the staff and doctors of the Maples Personal Care Home for their compassion and care of Florence. A celebration of Mom's life will occur at a later date along with a private burial. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, or to a charity of your choice.
