DERMOT (DERMIE) AUGUSTINE HANDREGAN It is with great sadness that after a two and a half year battle with cancer, we announce the passing of Dermot (Dermie) Augustine Handregan on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Riverview Health Centre. Remaining to forever Cherish Dermie's memory are his wife Lynn of 45 years of marriage; sons, Kevin (Chris) and Jeff (Candace); beloved grandchildren, Cherish, Zach, Nolan, Erika, Andrea and Erik; sister, Eileen (Bernie); brothers, Tom (Elaine) and Leo (Margie); in-laws, Mel (Lex) and Brent (Sharon) as well as his siblings' children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On February 15, 1942 Dermie was born in Cornerbrook, Newfoundland to Kevin and Ursline (Cain) Handregan. He spent most of his childhood in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. After working his way West Dermie ended up in Winnipeg where he met and married Lynn Harvey on August 6, 1966. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 4588 Roblin Boulevard. The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Buhler Cancer Centre as well as Riverview Palliative Care Unit for the excellent care that he received. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dermie's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Ronald McDonald House or a charity of your choice.
