JEAN PATTLE (nee ANDERSON) May 21, 1921 - July 7, 2011 Peacefully on July 7, 2011 Jean passed at the Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her husband Milton, her grandson Jeffrey, her parents James and Catherine, brother John and sister Sadie. Jean is survived by her son Charlie and his wife Melody, granddaughter Jerilyn, her husband Chris, great granddaughter Addison and sister Annie, sister-in-law Verna Pattle and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean was born in Glasgow, Scotland on May 21, 1921. She and Milton were married June 26, 1944 in Britain and shortly after she came to Canada as a war bride. Jean worked for several years at the Hudson Bay Company and Woolco. Jean was a proud member of Harrow United Church. Some of her hobbies were knitting mittens and scarves for the Christmas Cheer Board, baking butter tarts and cookies for her family, reading and watching her favourite programs on television. Jean was a very proud grandmother and always happy to celebrate their accomplishments. She was most thrilled to become a great grandmother in 2010 and enjoyed visiting with Addison. Jean was a strong, independent woman, living on her own until she was 88. She was extremely proud of her Scottish heritage and was fortunate to return home to visit family on several occasions. The family wishes to give a heartfelt thank you to the kind and compassionate staff of Tuxedo Villa, where Jean was treated like family. Special thanks to the staff of Unit 3. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in Jean's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, Manitoba Blood and Marrow Transplant Program, 675 McDermot, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Rest in peace, Mom.
