HELEN KOMAR It is with deepest sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Baba and friend, Helen Komar on July 4, 2011 at Riverview Health Centre, after a long, brave and determined struggle with Leukemia. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. Left to forever cherish Helen's memory are daughter Cindy and husband Al Garlinski, granddaughter Elisa and husband Wes Wiebe, great-granddaughter Brynlee; son Jeff and grandson Andrijko; brother-in-law Ron and wife Bernice, in-laws Stan and Olga Saramaga, nephew Brian and wife Krista; niece Charlene and husband John Sokoloff. She will also be missed by her special Jelly Bean . She was predeceased by her parents Anna and Michael Niemcov, and the love of her life, husband Ted in 1996. Born in Portage la Prairie July 29, 1930, Mom attended Portage Collegiate and worked as a bank teller before moving to Winnipeg in 1950 to marry Dad. Over their 46 years together, Mom worked in the family music business and travelled the world with Dad, making many wonderful memories. Mom was forever young in heart, mind, spirit and beautyit was truly amazing how young she still looked in this picture taken on her 80th birthday. Mom had a love for people and a great sense of humor, even when facing her final days. She loved to tease all her caregivers at Riverview, especially the student nurses. She was a true blue Bomber fan and always told us the latest Bomber news each time we visited. She touched the hearts of countless people and her memory will live on forever in our hearts. She will be so deeply missed. The family would like to express our deepest heartfelt thank you to Susan Edmond and all the doctors, nurses and aides on Palliative Care Unit 3 East at Riverview for all their outstanding care, compassion and kindness. Helen loved you all (her Pixies). A private family service has been held. Donations in Helen's memory would be appreciated to the Winnipeg Humane Society at 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3T 0R3. We love you so much, Mom you are our beautiful angel in Heaven Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111 www.gleneden-mb.ca
