MARION SPECHT It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Marion Helena Specht (nee Koch) on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at the age of 93 years. Marion was born on August 24, 1917 in Vibank, Saskatchewan. She spent the majority of her working life at Minneapolis Moline, TransAir and the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Manitoba. Marion's passions included travel, bridge, golf and curling. She was an active member at Rossmere Golf and Country Club for many years, and she followed her sports until her passing. Marion was predeceased by her husband Gus in 1984 as well as her brothers Bert and Roy, and her sister Rosemary. She is survived by her sister Sylvia Bell, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Marion's caregivers on the sixth floor of Misericordia Hospital, and the second floor at Meadowood Manor. In keeping with Marion's wishes, no formal service is planned. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marion's memory to CancerCare Manitoba or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
