RICHARD MCCONACHY 1942 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Bruce McConachy, age 68, at Riverview Health Centre after a very brief battle with cancer on July 3, 2011. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Irene and their combined children, Sheryl Briggs, Randy Bamford, Kelly Durham, Sara Harris, Taniesha McConachy, and Ryan McConachy along with numerous grandchildren. He will also be greatly missed by his friends and clients he accumulated during his work as a tax accountant that he enjoyed immensely. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph Bruce McConachy and Hazel Ruth Strachan and sister Linda. He was also predeceased by his second wife Shirley. Richard was born in Winnipeg and during his lifetime travelled extensively. He lived the majority of his life in Winnipeg. He especially enjoyed his times working as a truck driver and working a bus tour company. His passion was his work as a self-employed tax accountant for approximately 30 years. In his youth he enjoyed playing a variety of sports. Over the past four years he and his wife have enjoyed volunteering and supporting their local community at the Burrows Resource Centre (the old Boyd Park Community Centre). At his request, he has been cremated and there will be no formal graveside ceremony or funeral. He will be interned at St. Clements Cemetery. The family will be holding a celebration of life at Burrows Resource Centre at 1100 College Avenue on July 16 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Burrows Central Residents Council to support the Burrows Resource Centre.
