BARBARA CAMPBELL 1922 - 2011 Barbara passed away following an illness with cancer on June 23, 2011. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Gary (Beverly) of Courtenay, BC, Allan of Malachi, ON and Barbara (David Hopper) of Sherwood Park, AB; grandchildren Meghan, Kristin, Jeffrey and Kimberly; great-grandchildren Mykyla and Isla; her life long friend Moira Murdoch of Vancouver, BC and her many relatives and friends. Barbara was born in Peace River, AB, grew up in Vancouver, BC and lived in Winnipeg, MB for the last 68 years of her life. A major focus of her life, one that she shared with her husband David, was the family cottage at Malachi, ON. Barbara travelled extensively, delighted in entertaining family and friends, was a surrogate mother to many of her children's friends and was actively engaged for many years supporting the Winnipeg Ostomy Association. Her interest also extended to painting in oils and maintaining a stamp collection originally started by her father. She started playing badminton as a young girl with her friend Moira and continued playing this sport for many years. At her request there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place and her family will spread her ashes with her husband's at Malachi. If friends so desire, donations may be made in her memory to the Winnipeg Ostomy Association, 204 - 825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5 or to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
