ROBERT WILLIAM (BOB) MOROZ It is with great sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Robert Moroz, aged 63, on July 7, 2011. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 36 years, Sharon; children Aynsley (Zeljko), Toban (Danielle), and Whitney; sister Sandra (Jim); brother Laddie; sister-in-law Brenda, brother-in-law Eddie (Georgina) along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Walter and mother Stephanie; brother Ronnie; father-in-law Peter and sister-in-law Sandra. Bob was born in Montreal on July 2, 1948. His childhood was spent between Montreal and Toronto until his family moved to Winnipeg where he graduated from high school. He went on to pursue his post-secondary education where he received his teaching degree. He accepted his first teaching position with Lakeshore School Division at Ashern Central School in 1972 as a Physical Education teacher. It was at Ashern Central School one year later that Bob met Sharon and, after a short courtship, the two were married in 1973 and settled in Ashern to start a family. Throughout his teaching career he wore many hats within the walls of Lakeshore's schools including teacher, guidance counsellor, coach, vice-principal and most recently principal at Alf Cuthbert School in Moosehorn. In 2001, Bob briefly left the teaching world to pursue his passion for the sport of curling. He was named the Regional Development Co-ordinator for the Southern Alberta Curling Association and maintained the position for several years. He returned to teaching and administrative positions in Alberta before moving back to Ashern where he once again became a fixture within the Lakeshore School Division. Bob was a very hard-working individual who always found something to keep himself busy. Throughout his life he had a passion for sports but football, hockey, volleyball and curling were those he enjoyed most. He was not only an athlete but a coach, instructor and official as well. He coached curling teams of various ages and categories throughout the years and went on to represent them at both the provincial and national level. Bob was an active individual who liked to challenge himself and ran in a number of marathons and triathlons in his earlier years. Prior to starting a family, Bob was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was a self taught handy man who spent much of his free time busy with a hammer, nails and his radial arm saw making improvements around the family home and even building a cottage. Bob lived for his family and our most cherished memories center around our time spent together at home or on the road. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the Ashern Centennial Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Service will conclude at the hall with burial to follow at a later date. The family would like to thank Dr. Ramadan and the staff at Lakeshore General Hospital, John Gray and his staff at Arnason Funeral Home and our family and friends for their kindness and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bob's name to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3. Hi Sharon, I was just informed of Bob's passing. I am so sorry to hear this news. I enjoy connecting with Toban when he's at Pacific Junction School. (small world eh?) I can only imagine how difficult this time has been for your family. May God Bless you and your family. Karen - Posted by: Karen Landry DeCorby (Colleague/friend) on: Jan 04, 2012
