MAISIE SLADE Maisie Slade born November, 1916 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba passed away on July 5, 2011 in Tsawwassen, BC. She was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1990, brother Cyril and sisters Gwen and Rita. May is survived by her daughters: Vivian (Wilfried) of Winnipeg, Heather (Ralph) of Tsawwassen, BC, and Kathleen (Tom) of Tsawwassen, BC, and grandchildren: Mark, Karen, David, Heather, Garth and Brian as well as three great-grandchildren: Nathan, William and Benjamin. May spent her early years in Rossendale, MB. She graduated as a registered nurse in 1937 from Grace Hospital in Winnipeg. After graduation, May went to work at the hospital in Gladstone, MB. May and Bill were married in 1939 and lived in Gladstone, MB where May helped Bill operate a greenhouse business until their retirement in 1969. May and Bill then retired to Winnipeg where they lived until 1979 when they moved to Tsawwassen. The family would like to thank the staff at Kin Village in Tsawwassen for their compassionate care and assistance in the last few years of May's life. A memorial service is planned for a later date.
