STANLEY (STAN) KENNETH DUDECK Peacefully, with his family by his side, Stanley Kenneth Dudeck was taken into the hands of the Lord on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 84 years. Left to forever cherish Stan's memory is his beloved wife Frances, of 60 years of marriage; daughter Susan Mussell (Gord), grandson Christopher (Carly), great-grandchildren Laine and Ben, granddaughter Kati (Grant Sutherland); son Ken (Hedy), grandchildren Jason, Matthew, Jessica and Michelle; son Tim (Lori), granddaughters Megan and Nykola; daughter Adele Mickoski, grandson Scott; also left to mourn his passing are his sister Carol Budowski; brothers Henry and Bernie (Liz); as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Louis and Tekla Dudeck; infant brother Casmer and sister Frances Byrd. Stan was born on January 18, 1927 in Garson, Manitoba, the eldest of six children. His early days on the farm near Tyndall were instrumental in moulding his character. Life revolved around love and respect for each other, and his Roman Catholic faith. Upon Stan's graduation from Tyndall High School in 1944 he began an abbreviated teaching career in Morris, Manitoba. In 1948 Stan became a partner in Mid-West Cabinets on William Avenue in Winnipeg. This evolved into a career as a house builder in the early 1950s with most of the homes built in the River Heights area. This was the start of Dudeck and Dudeck Construction. Stan worked extremely hard in building his company. After purchasing property in St. Boniface in 1954, Precision Fabricating was established. This soon became Paramount Glass Ltd. which evolved into Paramount Windows and Doors. Stan was President of his company and was instrumental in the day-to-day operation along with his brothers Henry and Bernie. He was very well respected and admired amongst his industry peers and was active in promoting the advancement of the fenestration industry. He realized that the strength of any company is in its employees and he always took an active interest in their lives. Stan remained active in his company until April 2011. In January of 1951, Stan and his cousins attended a banquet at St. John Cantius Hall where he met his future wife Frances. They were married on October 13, 1951. Even though he was proud of his carpentry skills the building of his family took precedence. Soon after the construction of their first home on Matheson Avenue in West Kildonan, Susan and Ken were born. During these early years of married life Stan and Frances worked together to build a strong family life centering on faith, love and moral values. All of his brothers and sisters as well as his parents lived close by which led to many wonderful family memories. After Tim and Adele were born Stan and Frances decided to build a new home in 1967 on Foxgrove Avenue in East St. Paul. This soon became the cornerstone of many memorable family gatherings. Stan took an active roll in many professional and community organizations which included the Canadian Polish Business Association, Holy Ghost Fraternal Aid Society, Canadian Polish Manor, board member of Holy Spirit Credit Union, and the Knights of Columbus. He was instrumental in the building of Holy Redeemer Parish. He was also an active supporter in many other charitable organizations. For those who wish, viewing and prayers will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2011 followed by Funeral Liturgy which will be Celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 264 Donwood Drive, with Brother Joseph Lourdusamy, O.F.M. Cap., presiding. A private family interment will be held in Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Cemetery, 4387 Main Street.
