Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAULINE (MYK) LOZINSKI December 17, 1926 - July 11, 2011 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, sister, aunty and friend. She was predeceased by her parents Anton and Anna (Negrych) Myk; sisters Tillie, Eva, Mary, Barbara, Pat and Frances; brother John; daughter Lynn; infant son Tommy and grandson Drew Bereznycky. Mom is survived by her children: Joan (Rolly) Barthel, Chris (Bill) Howe, Bonnie (Gerald) Kimacovich, Gary (Lori) Lozinski; grandchildren: Bonnie-Lynn, Sean, Scott, Colin, Sam and Max, and great-grandchild Brie-Lynn. Also surviving are brother Wes (Elsie) Myk; sister Rose Hale; sister-in-law Maria Myk as well as many nieces, nephews and special friends. Mom was born on December 17, 1926 on the family farm in the R.M. of Gilbert Plains. She was educated at Lemburg School, worked on various farms in the area, then moved to Flin Flon as a teen. In 1947, when she was 21, Mom was crowned the Flin Flon Rotary Carnival Queen. She received a coronation gown, prize money, and a plane trip to Winnipeg, where she spent a day on display in the Eaton's store window. She said it was very exciting, along with the chance to stay at the Fort Garry Hotel. The following year Mom was blessed with her first child, a daughter named Paulette Lynn. In 1949 Mom moved to Dauphin where she met and fell in love with our Dad, Ed. They were married on September 21 that year. From then on, Mom was completely devoted to staying home to raise her children. She was a jack of all trades. There wasn't anything she couldn't do, fix or make herself. She was truly amazing! In 1964, Mom suffered an unbearably tragic loss when her oldest child Lynn died suddenly in a car accident. She was never able to recover from her loss. Once the younger kids were all in school, Mom rejoined the workforce until health reasons forced her to retire early. In early 2007 Mom moved to Winnipeg to be closer to her children. She resided at the Fort Garry Rotary Villa where she made many new friends. She loved her apartment and felt very much at home there. Special thanks to Ann and the staff at the Villa for making Mom's time there extra special. Last but not least, a huge thank you to Mom's at home palliative nurse, Monique, as well as Dr. Wong and the staff of the 8th Floor Palliative Ward at the St. Boniface Hospital for the exceptional kindness they showed toward Mom and her family. In lieu of flowers, Mom would appreciate a donation to a no-kill animal shelter or the Salvation Army. A celebration of Mom's life will be held on Saturday, July 16 at 11:00 a.m., at the Riverside Funeral Chapel, Dauphin, MB. Rest in Peace Mom We Love You
