OPAL HARTMAN (nee OVERBY) May 13, 1926 July 10, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, Mom, Grandma and friend, Opal, on July 10, 2011 at Riverview Health Centre, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Left to forever cherish her memory are husband of 63 years, Anton; son George and wife Robin, grandsons Adam (Kerry) and Stuart (Jen) and granddaughter Karen (Kyle); daughter Wendy and husband Mike Tschetter, granddaughters Laura (Pete), Kaley and Stephanie; son Garry and grandson Kris and granddaughters Vicky and Mandy; two greatgrandchildren Chloe and Brody. She was predeceased by daughter Valerie. She will also be missed by her last remaining sibling Ragna Bezo as well as many special nieces, nephews and friends. Opal touched the hearts and lives of countless people with her positive outlook on life. She was a strong, courageous, loving person who will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Susan Edmond and all the doctors, nurses and aids on Palliative Care Unit 3 East at Riverview for all their wonderful care, compassion and kindness in making Mom's last days comfortable. We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to Dr. Pat Harris and Dr. Al Schroeder for their outstanding care of Mom over the course of her illness. A celebration of Opal's life will be held Monday, July 18 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler on Henderson Hwy with reception to follow.
