CAROLINE (CAROL) MALEC Carol passed away peacefully on July 14, 2011. Carol is survived by two nephews Stanley (Helen) and Ralph (Sharon); grandnephews Ryan and Justin; grandniece Krystal ; sister-in-law Margaret; cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Stanley in 1949 and Pelagia in 1978; brother Cass in 2008, a brother and sister in infancy. Carol was born March 3, 1922, in Winnipeg and with the exception of two years in Montreal, she lived the rest of her life in Winnipeg. She started her working career as a civil servant attached to #2 Training Command (RCAF) during the Second World War, followed by a 35 year career with TCA/Air Canada. A 32 year period of retirement followed, during which she led a full and active life. She golfed with the Kildonan Ladies, curled with the Air Canada and Carefree Association, sang with the Stradbrook Senior Singles, lawn bowled for a while and, of course, travelled extensively over the years. Particularly meaningful to her was making the acquaintances of her European and American cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
