TILLIE SCHNEIDER It is with utmost sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Left to cherish Tillie's memory are her son Stan (Chris); grandsons Craig (Laura), Jason and Darren; granddaughter Kathy; great-grandchildren Brittney, Jamie and Kevin Schneider; sisters Mary, Francis and Vickie; brothers William (Trudy), Adolph (Gail); sister-in-law Jean Bemben; numerous nieces; nephews; as well as Andy and Janie Bibik and their children Kenneth, Michael, Deanne and Kristin who considered Mom their third mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband August (Gus) in 1999; son Richard in 1972; brother Leon in 1989 and sister Emily in 2010. Mom was born in Tolstoy, Manitoba, in 1918, the second child of eight to Adolph and Valerie Smidt. She came to Winnipeg and trained as a seamstress. She worked at Jacob and Crowley, Diane's Wedding Gowns and the Hudson's Bay Company in alterations and drapery till her retirement. Mom was in high demand to mend pants, alter skirts and dresses, jackets, put in zippers, sew drapes, etc. She took up swimming in her late 60s and kept it up until she was nearly 90. Many people referred to mom as a true lady and it was an honour to hear that. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in St. John Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place with Rev. Fr. Mark Tarrant, presiding. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Cemetery, 4387 Main Street. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all the nurses and doctors and HCA at the Victoria Emergency 5th floor north and Grace Hospice for their kindness and professionalism while caring for Mom. You are truly special people. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Mom's name to a charity of your choice. We Love You Mom And Will Miss You Forever.
