Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARJORIE EDITH GREENAWAY (nee RADCLIFFE) December 18, 1922 - May 30, 2011 Marjorie was born in Rapid City, Manitoba to Zella and Joseph Radcliffe, the eldest of nine. She grew up in Winnipeg on Ruby Street and attended Laura Secord and Gordon Bell Schools. Marge was married in 1943 to Glen Hartley Greenaway, who passed away in September, 1992. They are survived by their four daughters, Joy Mowat (Langley, BC), Carol Radway (Winnipeg), Nancy Greenaway (Beausejour), Wendy Ditchfield (Winnipeg); and by sons-in-law, Dallas Mowat, Lorne Hagel and Paul Chorney. Marge is also survived by her sisters, Barbara Radcliffe (Portland, Oregon), Jean Miller (Winnipeg), Joan Radcliffe (Chilliwack, BC) and Diane Koehli (Shuswap, BC) and by her 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Mona; brothers, Donald, Blake and David; and son-in-law Dan Ditchfield. Marjorie and Glen raised their daughters in Winnipeg's Wildwood Park. Marjorie worked in Glen's office in the early years, then renovated rental houses for Glen's real estate company. Later on, Marge drove a Springfield school bus. Marjorie was a talented seamstress, and later in life she created unique braided rugs. She enjoyed curling, gardening and driving across Canada to visit family and friends. Marge loved to read, to travel and to spend summers at the lake when the family was young. Marjorie and Glen moved to Hillside Road near Bird's Hill Park in the early 1970s. They had many good friends in the area and in the Springfield Polo Club, and enjoyed a very active lifestyle for 20 years on Hillside Road. Marge and Glen attended Oakbank United Church, and Marge lived in Oakbank for five years before moving to BC for the last eight years of her life. There she received wonderful care; two years with daughter Joy and son-in-law Dallas in Langley, and six years in Valhaven Nursing Home in Abbotsford. Marge attended Aldergrove Seventh Day Adventist Church and was baptized there. Marjorie had an adventurous, independent spirit, a welcoming home, and was an inspiration to those who knew her. There was a memorial service held at the Aldergrove, BC Seventh Day Adventist Church on June 7, 2011 and there will be an informal interment service at Sunnyside Cemetery on Heatherdale Road, Springfield at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2011.
