Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT (SARGE) PETER MCDONALD August 19, 1928 - July 15, 2011 It is with great sadness after a lengthy battle with cancer, we announce the passing of Albert Peter McDonald with his family by his side, at the Grace Hospital at the age of 82 years. Left to cherish Albert's memory is his wife Kathleen (Kay) of 59 years of marriage; daughters, Brenda (Bruce), Karen; sons, David (Sandy), Alan (Audrey), Keven and Daren (Richelle); as well as 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to all who knew him. Albert was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, August 19, 1928. He joined the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery in April 4, 1951 and served in Korea. He married Kay on November 17, 1951 in Winnipeg. After being discharged from the army on December 25, 1967, he was employed by the Winnipeg Transit Authority until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed his retirement immensely and loved to be surrounded by his family and friends. On Tuesday, July 19, 2011, a Military Service will be held to honour both Albert's life and service to his country at 11:00 a.m. in ANAF Rockwood, Unit 303, 341 Wilton St. @ Grant Avenue, Winnipeg. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Grace Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Dad in his last two months. In lieu of flowers, donations in Albert's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 2B7. Go In Peace Dad, You Will Be Sadly Missed.
