MARK MASAAKI KOGA April 21, 1923 - July 13, 2011 It is with deep sadness that our family announces the passing of Mark Koga on July 13 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Mark is survived by his son Donald (Ginette); daughter Kelly (Andy); grandsons, Kevin and Russell; brother-in-law Mickey Kojima; sister-in-law Dorothy Koga and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Mon and Shiro Koga; beloved wife Grace; sister Thelma; and brother Bill. Mark was born in Maple Ridge, BC and moved to Sanford, MB with his family in 1942. He married Grace Terakita in 1951 and had two children, Donald and Kelly. His main occupation was as a Foreman at Co-Op Implements. After retiring from Co-Op, Mark didn't stop working. He dedicated many satisfying years to volunteering at the Manitoba Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, serving the Japanese Canadian community in many capacities. For the past couple of years, he had found a new passion in helping out at his new home at Amber Meadow. Mark was a very kind, friendly and honourable man who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 19 at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Manitoba Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre.
