HENRY JESSE It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, Dad and Opa, Henry Jesse on Friday, July 15, 2011 at the age of 77 years. Henry was the oldest son of Hermann and Katharina Jesse. He was born in Chaco, Paraguay on July 7, 1934. In August 1960, Henry and Alwina were married. God blessed them with two beautiful children, Marvin Wilfred and Dorothy Marina. Dorothy gave him two lovely grandchildren, Cloe Megan and Carly Nicole. They were very special to Opa. Henry is survived by his wife of almost 52 years, Alwina; his son Marvin (Dawn); daughter Dorothy (Luis); granddaughters, Cloe and Carly. He also leaves behind sisters, Margaret, Frieda, Adina (Wes), Lydia (Ed), Betty; brothers, Vic (Anne), Will (Ellen) and Harry (Helen). He is also survived by Alwina's sisters, Gerda (Konrad) and Annemarie. He left many loving nieces and nephews and many great friends. Henry had a great sense of humour and will be sorely missed. The family invites you to share in the celebration of Henry's life on Wednesday, July 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Douglas Mennonite Church, 1517 Rothesay St. and Douglas Avenue. We wish to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital for their kindness and caring. We would also like to thank everyone for their visits, phone calls, thoughts and prayers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Henry's memory to MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) at 134 Plaza (Fort Garry), Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9.
